He was educated Birmingham, Eng.; came to America, 1850; surveyor and draftsman; Smethport; Democrat. His family in England were Friends; his children were Epis.

Pauline Hamlin King Obituary

Text of the obituary follows:

Death of Mrs King.

On Saturday, April 27th, there occurred the death of Mrs. Pauline Hamlin King after and illness of some months.

Mrs. King was born in Smethport Sept. 28th 1838, the daughter of Orlo J. and Orra L. Hamlin. All her life had she lived in Smethport.

She was married January 20th, , to robert King who died about eleven years ag. To them were born five children, only two of whom survive: Miss Eulalia King and Mrs. Orra King Palmer, both of Smethport.

A life time of nearly eighty years spent in this community has so identified her with the life of our town that her death means the severing of this which have made her part and parcel of this community. She was intensley a home loving body, loyally and lovingly domestic in nature. Her quite, ???????? home making and home keeping was that of a generation rapidly ????????? and now as rare as it was beautifu. Hers was a life of ??????? thi?? ??? life of fulness,. May the God of all understaiding grant her rest.

The funeral services were held at her late home on Main street Monday afternoon, Rev. W. E. VanDyke, rector of St. Luke's officiating. She leaves to mourn her loss, beside her two daughters, on bother, the Hon. Honry, Hamlin, our esteemed townsman.
